Field Trip to Flandrau

Sorry it has taken me to long to upload these pictures from our field trip to Flandrau Science Center at U of A! Better late that never!

The kids had a blast with the ocean animal stations. Each station was led by a graduate student from then university. I think that the favorite was the direction of the squid!

They are seriously touching a shark!

Emily is holding some kind of eel, I believe.

Don't they look adorable in our class shirts?! Thank you so much to our chaperones that made this day so simple and fun for all the kiddos.

Book Feast

Surprise Day #2 was a HUGE success!

When students arrived at the classroom door, they were greeted by our hostess, Mrs. Fox, and this sign.

Mrs. Fox seated the students and gave them their menu. They were in awe of the decor! They said, "This is so fancy!"

When all the tables were seated, they were served up their first round of books to taste test. They were served 6 different series of books and given time to check out the ba ck cover, look at illustrations, read the first few pages and chat.

All that reading got us super hungry! Students were served pasta and cheesecake. They had the sweetest manners. Many of them knew to put their napkins on their laps. They would wait until everyone at their table had been served before they started eating. I was so proud and impressed!

I am very thankful for the time I get to spend with these 24 kiddos! Thank you so much for sharing them with me!

Literature Parade & Halloween

Here are some pictures that I snapped of the literature parade costumes!

After the parade we did a STEM project where groups competed to see who could build the largest structure with tooth picks and candy corn.

The winners were Tristan, Kahlon and Troy!

We ended our day with some sweet treats!

Thanks for all of your contributions for our fun day!
