- Make sure that your child can tell time. Especially check to see if they can tell time when it is getting close to a new hour and therefore the hour hand is close to the next number.
- Get your child an analog watch.
- Ask your child simple and real world elapsed time questions. "We are having dinner in 15 minutes. What time are we having dinner?"
- Watch the homework videos on the parent help website.
Students will be learning to do elapsed time on a number line. I know this may be new strategy for you. I made this simple video last year to show the strategy.
